Giovanni's first day of kindergarten

This is the remarkable story of a very special first day of school that is amazing because it happened. Giovanni Price has late infantile onset MLD, a diagnosis that means he should be paralyzed and non verbal. And yet, in Omaha Nebraska two weeks ago, he did something no child with this disease has ever done before, he walked into school for his first day of kindergarten. Take some time to join Giovanni on this miraculous day and spread the word about leukodystrophy. We are so proud of Giovanni and grateful to his family for sharing this momentous day. This video is dedicated to Cal, Loie, Gavin, Livi and all the other children with leukodystrophy who should be in kindergarten.

Super Gav's Story

My son Gavin Quimby loves superheroes, particularly Superman, to whom he shares more than a passing resemblance with his dark hair, piercing eyes, and fair complexion. It should not surprise anyone Gavin's nickname is Super Gav. Gavin was the kind of child who was always in motion, then my husband Nick and I noticed he was having trouble with his balance and seemed like he was afraid of his own body.
